Album Text (Insert)
On October 9, 1963, Ms. Murray performed in
a concert in front of an invited audience at the Marian Hall in
Dublin, Ireland with fellow performers Brendan O'Dowda, Laurie
Morton, Breandan O'Duill, and Milo O'Shea. The concert was
recorded by Columbia and released under the title _St. Patrick's
Day_, and there's a number associated with it which I believe is
probably Columbia's catalog number ... 33SX 1589. They were
accompanied by the Dublin Light Orchestra, the guest conductor
being Norrie Paramor. Mr. O'Duill was accompanied by an
accordion player named Jack Barrett. I believe some of
these songs are extant on the first disc of a "Best of
Irish" compact disc collection somewhere.
Ms. Murray specifically performs "Let Him Go, Let Him
Tarry", "Teddy O'Neill", "Delaney's
Donkey", "Johnny Gray", "Dear Old
Donegal", and "MacNamara's Band" as solos, and
"Doonaree" and "Eileen O'Grady" as duets with
Brendan O'Dowda. Here's the complete track listing on the
