Re: Library reopened

I have checked the third section called Miscellaneous Images . Page 1 Item 5 can be deleted Page 4 item 8 is not as titled, and can be deleted because Item 7 is a better copy of that picture Other than that, there are a few pictures which would be better if rotated. I think I can do this, but at the...

Re: Library reopened

Hi Tim, the Preview Feature certainly works very well indeed for pictures and Text (.txt files). For documents, music files, and videos I get offered to view or download, and there is not really any difference in the time it takes to do either of these things. A preview would be useful, but I guess ...

Re: Library reopened

Thanks for the button! OK, I have checked out the first section called Album Covers . All is OK except Page 1 Item 2 and the title does not match the text. This could actually date back to an uploading error, but in any case, the picture is of the sheet music for Goodbye Jimmy Goodbye, and is alread...

Re: Library reopened

I have tried out the new search facility too, and it all seems to be working well. I particularly like that when you type in a word, such as Teddy, it searches the whole site and comes up with a document with the lyrics, as well as the mp3 of the song. Only one small point, there is no Search button...

Re: Library reopened

I go away for a few days and when I come back I see that you have been very busy sorting out the problem with the old library! :D Well done in getting it all working again. I also like very much the fresh look of it, and the easy way you can navigate around it so thank you very much for all your eff...

Re: The Passing of Ruby's son Tim

Hello Mellymel, welcome to this website and forum from me too. I too found Tim to be a very pleasant person to meet and speak with. The last occasion we were talking was a Skype meeting when he was marooned in Lanzarote at the start of the Covid pandemic, which was not very long before he sadly died...

Re: Teresa Hart - Timmer's mother

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Timmer's mother Teresa has sadly passed away. She was in a care home, and although Timmer had to travel from one side of the USA to the other to get there, he was able to visit her a short while ago and play her some Ruby Murray records, which he...

Re: Rubys Birthday

Remembering Ruby. She was once likened to Vera Lynn, who sadly died last year at the old age of 103. If only Ruby had had better health, she might have still been around. Her memories in the form of records, photographs and news cuttings still live on here on this tribute website.

Re: The Passing of Ruby's son Tim

It is indeed a sad posting about the loss of Tim. He together with Bernie and Julie have done so much to help keep alive the memories we all share of our Dear Ruby. Some years ago, when he was a singer, he prepared a tribute show to Ruby, and Bernie and I went to the first such show on the South Coa...

Re: Happy Christmas

Thank you for the good wishes. This is just to let you all know that the website has been given some action by Timmer just before Christmas. He told me he was going to do this so I decided to wait until all the work was finished before putting the Christmas Home Page back up, so as not to give him a...

Re: Guinness Book Of World Records

Thank you John, this is good news among all the bad news we have had for 2020. It is good to know that when I was 15, I chose to be a fan of someone whose world records would still be standing all these years later! What a grand achievement!

Re: Rubys Music on the Radio

Thank you for the information, Donald, I will give it a go - presumably during NZ daytime and evening hours which makes it a bit tricky for me!

PS - the last time I was in New Zealand, I visited the shores of Lake Taupo. Lovely drive to get to it and a lovely place.

Re: Wikipedia page for Ruby

Thank you Donald. I understand that as Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, it is necessary from time to time to keep an eye on it to make sure that errors don't get back in again - such as the now infamous one where someone wrote that Madonna beat her world record, when in fact Guinness Book of Recor...

Re: Purchase of signed photo or and Ruby Memorabilia

I have the same photograph!

It reminds me of the time back in 1954 when I was just 14 years old, I joined the Fan Club and they sent me this photograph. I remember changing the letters in my own handwriting so that the "r" and the "y" were the same as Ruby wrote! (Shakes his head in embarrassment!)

Re: Wikipedia page for Ruby

It was a while back when we discussed the idea of "Official" with Bernie. He rationally concluded that at the time there was no other tribute to Ruby than the one which you so very kindly and thoughtfully created back in 1999, so he gave it his blessing. I always think it looks rather good to see th...
