New Home Page

Well the traditional Home Page for Christmas is now with us, but sadly without the falling snow. A change to the Java software has meant that I cannot make the snow fall without getting the software "signed" as being secure, and as it is not my software in the first place, I cannot really do that! I...

Re: The 60th anniversary begins

Hello to all Ruby's fans. The 60th anniversary of her first UK hit was, of course, on Wednesday ("Heartbeat" became a Top 20 hit on the chart dated 3 December 1954). I helped to put it there! I remember we only had a clockwork gramophone in those days, so I bought the record (78 rpm of course!) and...

Re: Snippet of info I came across if of any interest

He certainly had a hit with "Cherry Pink" (I have a copy on 78 rpm in my loft!) and his other big hit was, I think, "Roses of Picardy". But I am sure your friends on Whirligig will put you right, Bernie!

Wasn't the EP re-released as a tribute to the marriage of Charles and Diana?

Re: Rubys Fontana Records

I am really sorry to read this Bernie. Sorry on two counts - one for not being able to complete my collection of Ruby Murray CDs with the outstanding Fontana and Decca tracks, and two for all the hassle that you have been through in spite of all the goodwill you have shown in providing personal memo...

Re: Guinness Book Of World Records

Thank you again for all your hard work, John.

A great achievement to have it all in writing, and it means that the words on our Home Page can still stand as true.

Re: Back On The Air.

Welcome Back Bernie - JK and I have missed you! There is still a name and password problem with both the library, and my ability to change the website information, such as the Home Page, but I have been assured by Timmer that he is looking into the problems for us. Let us hope he can fix them so tha...

Well it seems that you and Matthew have been very busy and have achieved some notable successes! Well Done, it is a fine tribute to Ruby in preparation for her 60th Anniversary of her world records next year.

Re: Rubys Fontana Records

I would be happy to do that, Will, as soon as I get back from a short holiday, but there is currently a problem with the Library and I am now currently unable to upload anything to it. The fault has been reported to Timmer, our website founder, and we are awaiting the news from him that he has found...

Re: A Very Special Day,

Lovely memories of a lovely lady. I shall always remember that day a few years ago when you took Rosemary and me to Altea and we sat in the sun in the square having a coffee at a table for four - it was obvious who should have been sitting in the fourth chair. And a good choice of song too - my favo...

I am my good wishes to those of Bernie, it is good to see you posting John. We none of us have any idea of how difficult it is for you to do this, but well done for making it again! As you say, we have been members a long time and I am hoping that next year, 2015 will enable us to do something speci...

Re: Hello

Hello Martin, I echo Bernie's comments that it is good to see you back. The problem is that if nobody posts anything, then there is nothing new to read, so nobody posts anything - vicious circle! It can get quite lonely if it is just Bernie and me writing to each other via this Forum! So it is very ...

Sounds good Nick, I will give it a try if I am around a Wi-Fi outlet at the time.
