Bernie has sent me a little more documentation about Ruby's earlier days as a singer: images of the programme for the Grand Farewell concert on May 3, 1949, and of an advert. for another Variety Show at about the same time.

Of course, I especially appreciate these images because they add to my earlier story about Ruby & Larry Peters.

Hi, everyone.

In the file to which I referred you in my first note on this topic, I said that we didn't know if the the Variety press clipping was from 1949 or the following year. To settle this matter, I found a website which provides calendars for years gone by, and saw that the Variety Show must have been in 1950.
Coincidentally, I found this out on Monday, May 1st, the same day & date as in the advert, 56 years after the show.
