What a find

Post by Valerie Phelps »

Dear Bernie
I looked up Tim's web site tonight and was pleasantly surprised but at the same time decided to do a very lengthy search for sheet music and guess what, I have found 14 songs sung by Ruby all on sheet music so you can be sure credit card is going to be put to good use this week.
I found them on a site called Sheetmusic warehouse who specialise in thousnds of songs that rang from 19th and 20th Century. Tonight I am a very happy Bunny and will be able I am sure to get the piano arrangements brought up to date by a friend with a little strong arm bending.
I hope this will please you as I am now on a very serious mission to do a tribute evening in memory of you Little Gem Ruby.
My Granddaughter has just ordered the book for me as a belated birthday present as my birthday is 28th March a day before Ruby's. Grat paople are Arians.
Kind Regards
Valerie

Thanks Bernie
I went to bed on a high last night and couldn't sleep for ages. I have now finished recording my Special CD for my family and I can't wait to hear the end result, it is the second one I have done but I think it is by far the best of the two.
I wish that I had been around when Ruby was recording as the tension in a recording studio then would have been electric. It's okay today but not the same as backing tracks exclude others from the studio and it feels very lonely on your own.
Weather here is lovely and blue skies today counting the days to seeing my two granddaughters and two great granddaughters aged 3 years and 10months next week.
Have a great day and I do hope that my posting may be of help to some out there I have even managed to get a copy of Pianissimo featuring Kenn Dodd how cool is that.

Hello Valerie,

Do I understand that you used the piano copies that you found on the Internet and had some band parts made from them for use in the recording studio?
I notice that another 'newcomer' - (Music Lover) is keen on your achievement, I daresay others will see your 'message' and act on it.

Good luck!

Dear Bernie
I am at pesent getting some new backing tracks compiled from the sheet music that I have found and this has been great fun. Most of it has been done on a keyboard with orchestral accompliments so until the finished article I won't really know what it is going to sound like as I haven't wanted to hear it until finished. My friend has told me that he is having great fun completing this task for me and as promised as soon as it is finished and I have recorded one song I will send you a copy to see what you think of it.
My admiration for Ruby is so great that I want to do the song I recoed the justice that it deserves and if that means several takes then so be it. I hope that you will be impressed with the efforts when they are completed but this has taken a while as I have been very ill and only just out of hospital. I can't wait to get started and this is ust the tonic I need as singing is in my blood and will be unil I die.
Kind Regards Amigo

Hi Bernie and Friends

I am sorry that it is taking me so long to get details on line about the sheet music but I have just returned from hospital where I have been very ill and I am sorry to say that things will only get worse from here on.
I hope to get all info about the sites and things I have found in the next week or two as time is running out for me and I so want people on the site to know where I have been able to find things.
Please bear with me and I will get the sites put here for you all.
Regards to everyone
Valerie

Hi friends

just thought I would say a huge thankyou to alll who have sent me good wishes and to let you know that I am feeling a little better but will be going back into hospital in the next week for treatment again. Sorry t has taken some time to get back to you but the morphine is horrid and knocks me scattier than I am normally.
I just want to let anyone who is interested in knowing that they can purchase sheet music to some of Ruby's somgs fron SHOPWIKI.CO.UK. they have about 16 songs that Ruby sang and they are really good.
In case anyone is interested my CD that I have recorded for my family is going to be available in the not to distant future for a small cast to raise money for Mcmillan nurses who look after terminally sick people so well, details will be put up later.
For now I wish everyone the best and look forward to hearing from you soon, keep smiling

Hi Valerie, thank you for getting back to us, and for letting us know that you maybe are just a bit better. Let us hope for the best.
Another place where you can find sheet music is on ebay - I personally have bought a number of songs there including a couple of rarities.
Good Luck!
Gerald
